PLM's Baba Adisa Speaks at African Liberation Day Baltimore

For decades, Baba Charlie Dugger has been educating youth from an African-centered perspective and organizing cultural events such as the annual Marcus Garvey Day Parade and African Liberation Day.

While Baba Duggar is not the originator of the celebratory day, he has done an amazing job keeping the spirit and energy alive in Baltimore. This year PLM was one of many organizations in the park. The celebration was filled with a multitude of Black talent featured on stage, African drumming and dancing, messages given by grassroots organizations, various vendors and community giveaways.

The primary purpose of this year was to honor the 100-year birthday of Malcolm X and we believe that the celebration achieved its mission. PLM was offered a spot to speak and Baba Adisa brought the passion reflective of our ancestor Malcolm X. Listen to the 10-minute speech with the link below!

May the ancestors continue to bless and guide PLM
