WAKE UP & RISE UP SISTERS (WURUS)
A movement for the Black Woman
Wake Up & Rise Up Sisters is a movement for women of African descent globally to take the rightful and audacious stance of reclaiming her indigenous self. It was founded by Mama Ife Fatiu. The movement offers sisterhood, services, and events to heal, nurture, and support Black women.
In this women's movement, Black men are not attacked nor forgotten because the war against our people can only be won collectively. It is a movement to uplift the Black woman, inspire her to rediscover who she is, and support her efforts in embracing her authentic self.
ANNUAL BLACK WOMAN'S CONFERENCE
Powerful workshops, sisterhood networking, affirmative gift bags, and delicious food. The WURUS conference empowers women and girls to build and sustain healthy lives - mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally.

INSPIRING READING
The philosophy of the movement was written about in Ife Fatiu’s book, “Wake Up & Rise Up Sistahs: The Voice of A Black Woman” published in 2015. She inspires women to awaken their spirit, and gives guidance on how to nurture self, family, and community.
